Becoming the right hand of IT management requires trust. Above IT acts as a trusted advisor for IT management, or ‘consigliere’ in Sicilian terms, who, as the right hand of IT management, supports and helps to guide development needs with their high level of expertise. Above IT’s journey from Valentine’s Day until now has been rewarding, but even entrepreneurs have limited capacity when serving clients. At the beginning of October, Lauri Haveri accepted the invitation and joined Above IT as the first hired ‘consigliere’ to support its growth journey. But who is Lauri and where does Lauri really come from?
Microsoft Technologies Inspire!
“I suppose I can call myself a Helsinkian, even though I originally come from Lohja,” Lauri says.
Lauri is a Microsoft technologies consultant who, in recent years, has gained comprehensive familiarity with the field of Microsoft cloud technologies and has extensively worked with various Microsoft 365 technologies and the Azure cloud, including Azure Virtual Desktop technologies.
“After graduating from high school and on the verge of military service, I applied for telecommunications engineering education at Metropolia. Work drew me in already during my studies. And although telecommunications and network technologies fascinated me greatly, I quickly gravitated towards Microsoft technologies in my work.”
In his previous roles, Lauri has been responsible for, among other things, leading the Service Desk, cybersecurity, and networks, and migrating clients from on-premise IT environments to cloud services.
Making a Difference is Rewarding!
Above IT helps professionals in their field to do things correctly and to ensure that their own end-users are better served. Lauri was also enthusiastic about this.
“I am enthusiastic about helping people!” Lauri says and continues: “It’s great to see how technology can help people make their daily lives much easier!”
But how did you notice Above IT among the large mass of employers?
“An old colleague of mine shared a post on LinkedIn seeking a person with the title ‘consigliere’. When I realized it was about proper IT-related work, I immediately got excited,” Lauri says.
At Above IT, Lauri is particularly fascinated by cybersecurity, the Azure cloud, and Microsoft 365 technologies – and how they can help businesses in their daily operations.
“But also network technologies, as I see telecommunication networks as a very important part of corporate infrastructure and business enablement,” Lauri continues.
Straight into the deep end!
On his very first day, the new ‘consigliere’ was taken to try on a tuxedo. An after-work event was scheduled for that same week’s Thursday, so Lauri immediately got to meet and get acquainted with potential and existing clients and partners face-to-face.
“You could say I was thrown straight into the deep end, networking and socializing with people!” Lauri says.
It’s great to have Lauri support Above IT’s growth journey with his expertise. Our next common goal is to elevate our company’s Microsoft partnership level to the next tier, which would better support Above IT’s journey as a Microsoft partner. And Lauri is taking part in this!
“Although I have been working with the Azure cloud for several years, there simply hasn’t been enough time for certifications. Now, together, we are seeking to solidify and demonstrate my expertise with certifications that will soon also support Above IT’s path!” Lauri says.
Lauri has been warmly welcomed at Above IT, and he feels he receives support from others whenever needed.
“Next, we will together start planning the migration of one of our client’s servers to the Azure cloud, with the goal of providing our client with even more fault-tolerant services that best support their business!” Lauri explains.
That sounds interesting! And this is just the beginning of our shared journey at Above IT! Exciting times ahead!
