For us at Above IT, Valentine’s Day is more than just a calendar entry. It’s a day when we celebrate both partnerships and our company’s anniversary. This year marks two years – two years of growth, development, experimentation, and above all, collaboration. Looking back at the past year, we can genuinely state: we have built the foundation for an even more ambitious future.
A year full of building and preparation
Last year was primarily a time for us to develop our corporate structure. We wanted to ensure that the conditions for growth were in place – not just for today, but also for the coming years.
Below IT Oy is born alongside us
The most significant structural change was the establishment of a new company, Below IT Oy.
Its purpose is to meet demand and collectively provide even more comprehensive services to the domestic market.
Below IT will operate alongside Above IT, complementing our service portfolio. This is not just a new name in the business register – it also represents an entirely new way of serving customers in the domestic IT service market. The first steps have now been taken, and we eagerly anticipate what 2026 will bring.
Internationalization – the next big step
With the structures in place, Above IT can now look beyond Finland’s borders. Last year, we began systematic work towards internationalization: market research, discussions with partners, and initial assessments of which markets our expertise is best suited for.
Preparations continue this year, and our goal is to build a path that takes our Finnish expertise to the world. Internationalization is not an end in itself for us – it is a natural continuation of the development that our customers have made possible.
People are always behind growth
It’s no cliché to say that a company’s value comes from its people. For us, it’s everyday reality. The year started strong when Tero Saarinen joined Above IT in the new role of Sales Manager. Tero brings experience, vision, and above all, the energy we need for the next stages of growth. His role is to strengthen our sales, streamline the customer process, and help build our next steps forward.
Our group company, Below IT, will also soon welcome a new expert to its ranks. The reinforcement starting at the beginning of March will bring additional capacity and versatility to domestic customer work. New people are not just doers – they are a key part of the culture upon which we build the future.
Last week, when I went to lunch with my colleagues, there were many of us. A year ago, there were only a couple of us at lunch together; now, there were six of us around a large table – and not everyone was even there. The atmosphere here is pleasant, and in this era of remote work, it has been fun to notice how much people enjoy working with us and genuinely want to come to the office more than just regularly. I am truly proud of the spirit of action we have: agile, honest, collaborative in problem-solving. Transparent and standing by the customer. As growth accelerates, the importance of culture and values only increases. That’s why we cherish it every day.
At the end of February, due to our growth, we are moving to new, larger premises next door, to the adjacent Quartetto Business Park at Linnoitustie 4, here in Säteri, Espoo. I am truly looking forward to the kind of workplace we will build there together.
Towards the future – goals for 2026
The coming year will be built around three main themes:
- Growth: both domestically and, through preparations, internationally.
- Structure and roles: Below IT’s first full year of operation and Above IT’s intensified commercial activities.
- Service development: Ensuring the scalability and functionality of our services.
One thing, however, will remain constant: our desire to do things well, responsibly, and in the best interest of the customer.
Finally – Valentine's Day reminds us of partnerships
Valentine’s Day is an excellent moment to pause and reflect on what is most important in all of this: trust and cooperation.
We thank every customer, partner, and team member – you have made the first two years possible, and the next ones are ahead.
